Sustainability

Comfort that respects the land

Sustainability isn’t an afterthought — it shapes how every Blue Horizon site is designed, built, and run.

Our approach

Designed to tread lightly

Canada’s travellers increasingly seek responsible places to stay. Blue Horizon is built to meet that expectation — pairing genuine luxury with low-impact operations and honest, measurable goals.

We describe our environmental work as design intent and goals rather than finished claims — and we’ll publish progress as sites come online, so what we say is always backed by what we do.

In practice

Six commitments, built in from day one

Renewable energy

Solar power with battery storage is planned to supply lighting, heating, and water systems, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Water conservation

Rainwater harvesting, low-flow fixtures, and greywater systems are designed to minimise water waste.

Waste reduction

Composting and recycling programs, with a goal of replacing single-use plastics with biodegradable alternatives.

Low-impact materials

Reclaimed wood, bamboo, and canvas chosen to limit land disruption and lower the carbon footprint of each site.

Local sourcing

Sourcing food, décor, and furnishings locally to cut transport emissions and support regional supply chains.

Measurement & transparency

A planned sustainability dashboard to monitor energy, water, and waste — so our claims stay grounded in real data.

Our 2030 goal

We’re designing toward carbon-neutral operations by 2030

Through renewable energy, low-impact construction, local sourcing, and participation in reforestation and offset programs — measured transparently as we grow.

Environmental statements on this site describe our planned design and operating intent for sites in development. We’ll substantiate and update them with real performance data as each location opens.
